Pupusas Express

Got three pupusas and pork with yuca fries. Ordered online. Can’t beat the price. Freshly made and the pork was crunchy but juicy.

Don't be fooled by this unassuming, corner joint. I always order take out and the service is quick, helpful, and they are always patient with my questions. Prices are reasonable, especially with the pupusas. We really like the pupusas with cheese and pork, and my favorite is the cheese and "loroco" (an herb making it vegetarian). Oh, and they give you enough slaw for the pupusas (thank you! So annoying when restaurants don't do this).

These pupusas were absolutely delicious, oh my goodness. Hands down, some of the best I’ve had in a long time here in the DMV. I ordered one jalapeño with cheese (perfect cheesy kick!) and one revuelta (pork, beans, and cheese), and both were cooked perfectly, with crispy edges, gooey inside, and super satisfying. The curtido was fresh and tangy, the salsa roja balanced everything out, and the pupusas were an excellent size for the price. And let me tell you, even the horchata was on point, it tasted like drinking cake with that cinnamon sweetness. Pure comfort in a cup. If you’re craving authentic Salvadoran food, this is the spot to hit.

I went here for dinner one night, and it was really delicious! A hidden gem for sure Our server was really nice, he was able to help us whether we needed an extra bowl for soup, hot sauce, to-go boxes, or any water refills. He was great, and even gave my bf recommendations on what to get since it was his first time trying pupusas. We ordered two pupusas: Revuelta and Loroco (recommended by server) and both were very delicious! The size is fairly large compared to other places I've been. We liked the flavorful revuelta and crispiness of the loroco. The cabbage on side was great too and red sauce. We also got a Sopa de res to share. It was a big bowl, with a good amount of beef and veggies. This soup was definitely more than enough for 2 people (we took some leftovers for next day)! The taco carne was delicious, and the homemade sauces complimented the flavors well. Lastly, I always get a tamal de pollo and it was good as well. Overall, excellent spot for affordable food, quick service, and very kind and friendly staff. I appreciated that for dinner it was not too loud, and we could enjoy a delicious Salvadorean meal, friendly service, with generous portions for a very reasonable price. Check them out!!

I ordered the fajita and it’s very tasty and authentic! I love the variety of meat in the fajita and how it was seasoned. I also enjoyed the warm corn drink and it was pretty good. My server was incredibly friendly and attentive, overall great dining experience!

My favorite Salvadoran place in the DMV. The staff is nice, the pupusas are the size of my face, and every other dish I’ve ever tried is well made and fresh. Good Horchata too

I came today to dine in, the service was really good. Rodrigo was really nice with us, also he is humble with lots of people!! I will come more times

We were looking for a sushi place and missed the turn, so pulled into the parking lot to turn around...then saw Pupusas Express and thought why not? And boy are we glad we did. The place didn't look like much, but it was spotless (including the bathrooms), and the guy behind the counter taking orders was super friendly and super patient (one of us is vegetarian, and he took the time to tell what was OK and what wasn't and adjusted one of the dishes to it remained vegetarian). We got the flan and it was amazing. We are for our appetizer! We wanted more, but the Pupusas came delivered to our table. The guy came by to make sure everything was OK. Can't wait to go back here...don't miss it if you're in the mood for pupusas!
